Progress for Knockodhar Site Assessment

Following submission of applications to South Ayrshire Council for the location of two meteorological mast sites, planning consent was awarded on 22nd December 2020.  The consent for both sites will run for a period of 5 years.  Once installed, the masts will collect wind data which will help not only with the layout of the wind farm through the iterative design process, but also in the choice of the most efficient turbine for the site.

Melvyn McKeown, Development Manager for Knockodhar Wind Farm commented: “This is an important step in the development of the wind farm and we are delighted that the pandemic has not adversely affected the planning process. We look forward now to progressing with the supply of suitable mast infrastructure for the site.”
